2026 New York Jets Team Preview
The first season under head coach Aaron Glenn ended with a 3 -14
record while being outscored by 203 points. The Jets haven’t had a top-
tier offense since 2015 (nine in points scored – 387), which came under
the direction of Ryan Fitzpatrick. They drafted a Super Bowl winner
(Sam Darnold) with the third overall pick in 2018, but he went 13 -25 in
New York. The Jets haven’t won the AFC East since 2002, and their
only Super Bowl appearance and win came in 1968 under the direction
of Joe Namath. Glenn has been coaching in the NFL for 12 seasons.
Frank Reich takes over as the Jets' offensive coordinator after sitting
out 2024 and working as the Stanford Cardinals' head coach in 2025.
His NFL coaching career started in 2006 with the Colts. Over six
seasons as a head coach for Indianapolis and Carolina, he went 41-43-
1 with two successful playoff seasons (10 -6 and 11-5) while going 1 -2
in the postseason.
His highlight season as a coach (offensive coordinator) came in 2017
when the Philadelphia Eagles won the Super Bowl against the mighty
Tom Brady. Reich has four years of experience as an offensive
coordinator. Last year, the Jets ranked 29th in points scored (300) and
offensive yards (4,880).
Brian Duker is in charge of reviving New York’s fading defense (31st in
points allowed – 503). He has experience playing under Aaron Glenn in
Detroit (2021 to 2023) in three different roles – defensive assistant,
safeties coach, and defensive back coach, which led to a promotion for
two seasons with the Miami Dolphins (secondary coach and pass game
coordinator). Duker has been coaching in the NFL for 10 years.
Offense
The Jets came into 2025 with a mindset to run the ball and play well on
the defensive side of the ball, thanks to talent at the running back

game. As a result, New York had the worst passing offense in the league
