Royal to have MRI; Scheffler possible sports hernia
The high-flying Broncos offense could be without two starters in Week 6 -- and possibly longer -- as WR Eddie Royal
(ankle) and TE Tony Scheffler (groin) went down with injuries and both were expected to have an MRI on Tuesday.
An x-ray on Royal's left ankle after the game did not reveal any fracture and for now he is expected to be week-to-week with the nagging injury. Scheffler could be out longer if the left groin strain turns out to be a sports hernia, which then could require surgery. The Broncos have a Week 8 bye.
Veteran WR's Brandon Stokley and Darrell Jackson should be more active in the Broncos' passing game.
