Titans sign WR Donnie Avery
It's not exactly a direct replacement for Kenny Britt, but the Tennessee Titans did bring in a wide receiver on Wednesday to help fill that void. The team signed former Rams wideout Donnie Avery to a one-year contract. Avery, who has had to deal with knee problems of his own, was one of the most productive rookie wide receivers in 2008. However a torn ACL prior to the 2010 season really took away from his greatest on-field attribute -- speed. He was cut by the Rams in early September.
Fantasy Analysis:
Right now, Avery is just the fourth or fifth WR on the Titans' roster. But if he can re-gain that 4.27 speed, he could become a valuable field-stretcher for the Titans. He won't have any fantasy value for a while, but again, if he can get his speed back to where it was in 2008 and 2009, Avery could be someone to watch in very deep leagues.
