Bengals RB Cedric Benson says he will play in week 4

At some point very soon, Cincinnati Bengals running back Cedric Benson @Cedric_Benson will be suspended for multiple games. But Benson and head coach Marvin Lewis don't expect that punishment to kick in prior to Sunday's game versus the Buffalo Bills. Benson told the Cincinnati Enquirer on Wednesday that he will indeed play against the Bills on Sunday. Benson had the appeal of his three-game suspension heard Tuesday and no ruling has been given as of yet. Lewis said the silence from the league speaks volumes.
"My interpretations of things is that if we don't hear something generally by Tuesday that we're going to presume that everything is going to go status quo. Otherwise they do put you at a disadvantage, but we're prepared either way."
Benson was arrested and charged with assault back in July during the lockout.

Fantasy Analysis:

When it comes to suspensions, the league wants to make sure it doesn't impact a team's game plan. Since it's Wednesday, teams are running practices and strategies are being installed, it would be pretty inconvenient for Roger Goodell and Co. to now tell the Bengals they won't have Benson available for this weekend's game. So for this week, it looks like Benson owners are in the clear and able to start him as they would. However, expect more news on this front next week, and go pick up Bernard Scott if he's still available in your league. Scott will start in place of Benson while he's serving his punishment. After the Bills, the Bengals' next three opponents are Jacksonville, Indianapolis and Seattle.
