UPDATE: Gates could take a few weeks off
San Diego Chargers tight end Antonio Gates
(foot) did not play in Week 3 and recently told the San Diego Union-Tribune that he is thinking about taking a few weeks of to give his foot the proper rest it needs. With that rest, he'd be able to play the remainder of the year uninterrupted. Gates plans on seeing specialists throughout the week in order to determine how to treat his foot. In San Diego's Week 2 loss to the New England Patriots, Gates tore scar tissue on his foot.
Fantasy Analysis:
As has been stated previously in other Gates' updates, this situation is very bad and fantasy owners sitting Gates on their bench need to find a Plan B as soon as possible. Gates is basically re-injuring himself every time he plays, never giving himself time to fully heal. It's also been speculated that Gates may never be 100 percent ever again in his career with this injury.
