No timetable concerning Bengals RB Cedric Benson's suspension appeal
The league contacted the Cincinnati Bengals on Tuesday to let them know no final decision had been made in regards to running back Cedric Benson
's appeal to a three-game suspension. The same NFL spokesperson added that there was no timetable for an announcement. In the mean time, the Bengals worked out former Redskins RB Clinton Portis as well as former Kansas City Chiefs RB Larry Johnson.
Fantasy Analysis:
It'll be interesting to see how the Bengals might use a back like Portis or Johnson in Benson's place if he misses games. Especially when you consider the team already has Bernard Scott, Brian Leonard
and Cedric Peerman. The Houston Texans also just released Steve Slaton who might be on the Bengals radar. Either way, there isn't much substantive you can do to your fantasy squad in regards to all this news. Scott seems like the obvious add but there are a lot of backs in play here and no decision made yet.
