Gary Kubiak says Ben Tate is Texans' lead RB right now
This is to be expected considering the fact that Arian Foster
re-injured his nagging hamstring on Sunday, but Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak said today that running back Ben Tate
is No. 1 on their depth chart for right now.
"[Tate is] playing really well," Kubiak said. "... Ben's probably going to carry most of the load right now."
Despite sharing carries with the likes of Foster and Derrick Ward
through the season's first two weeks, Tate has been one of the most productive backs in the league. He has logged 47 carries for 219 yards and one touchdown. He has surpassed 100 rushing yards in each game.
Fantasy Analysis:
One, this shows that Tate is most likely going to start this week against the New Orleans Saints and is a high-end RB2 in standard leagues. But for the long term, I think you'll see Tate be a factor in Houston's backfield all season long, no matter if Foster is healthy or not. For those of you who took him in the later rounds of your draft, looks like you've got a major steal on your hands. And once again, Tate should be owned in all leagues, no exceptions.
