Giants WR Hakeem Nicks limited on Friday, still planning to play Monday
A couple days after saying he would play Monday night against the St. Louis Rams, New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks isn't backing down. He reiterated his desire to play Friday despite the fact that he was held out of team drills yet again during practice.
"Yeah, they decided they were not letting me jump out there, they want me to get in a full week of healing underneath my belt," Nicks told the New York Daily News. "Still looking forward to playing Monday night."
Nicks, who has a knee bone bruise, has taken part in individual drills over the past couple of days.
Fantasy Analysis:
Head coach Tom Coughlin has been very mum on Nicks' health, but it sounds like Nicks will play against the Rams, which is a big positive for the entire Giants offense. I know fantasy owners are worried about being burned by Nicks in the event that he is ruled inactive before the game and unable to make a roster move. But unless you have three top-20 WRs, I think you can feel relatively safe deploying Nicks. Again, I think he's going to be available.
