Arian Foster won't play if he doesn't practice this week

Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak said on Monday that running back Arian Foster @ArianFoster will not play in Week 2 unless he is able to practice sometime this week. "There are some positions where guys can maybe not practice throughout the week and play. I don't know if running back is one of those spots," said Kubiak. In his absense during Week 1, backup backs Ben Tate @BenTateRB and Derrick Ward @DerrickWard32 split carries. Tate had 24 rushes for 116 yards and a TD. Ward had 11 carries for 39 yards and a score.

Fantasy Analysis:

Foster, widely considered a top three selection in fantasy football drafts this season could miss another week. I wasn't the only fantasy analyst to suggest it would be difficult for Foster to replicate his breakout 2010 season. Foster had over 400 touches, rarefied territory for any running back in any era. With all the hoopla made about his potential hamstring issues during the preseason, it's best that he take all the time off necessary so that when he does come back, he's fully healthy. For now, Tate appears to be the back to own between himself and Ward.
