Redskins TE Chris Cooley won't say if he's playing Sunday versus Giants
Most injured players are overly optimistic when talking about their status for the next game. Even when it looks incredibly bleak, the majority will still say they are planning to play or are hoping to play. Washington Redskins tight end Chris Cooley
is being much more covert. He spoke to reporters Friday, but when asked about his availability for Sunday's game against the New York Giants, Cooley refused to give a straight response.
"I'm getting better every day," Cooley said.
He didn't play in any preseason games because of a knee ailment that's been bothering him since last year. He underwent offseason surgery on the knee, but did previously admit that he'll have to manage the remaining pain in the knee for probably all of this season.
Fantasy Analysis:
Cooley is listed as questionable to play, but that's the norm with Mike Shanahan. The matchup is good for Cooley against that injury-plagued Giants defense. But there is such a deep pool of talented players at tight end this season, I wouldn't risk starting someone who isn't close to 100 percent, even if he is as established as Cooley.
