Colts QB Peyton Manning out 2 to 3 months

After undergoing a second surgery on his neck on Thursday, Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning will be out for the next two to three months. The procedure, cervical fusion surgery, will relieve pressure and pain in Manning's neck if all goes as scheduled. In his place, the Colts have brought in veteran QB Kerry Collins. There are rumors that Manning may in fact need another surgery, but there's no reason to worry about that until it happens.

Fantasy Analysis:

The Colts' receivers should be downgraded across the board. Without Manning, we're about to see how good (or bad) Indy really is. Collins isn't a bad QB, but he'll have to work quick behind an offensive line built for Manning to stand and deliver the ball in a matter of a couple seconds. Collins won't have time to work through his progressions, making it more difficult for him to find Pierre Garcon @PierreGarcon and Austin Collie @AKCollie_17 downfield since they are usually third and fourth options. Look for Joseph Addai to see a few more extra carries than usual now that Collins will be playing for the first half of the season.
