49ers WR Braylon Edwards avoids suspension
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Braylon Edwards
dodged a suspension this season after pleading guilty to a DUI charge from 2010. With Michael Crabtree
sidelined with various ailments, Edwards is poised for a potential lead role in the 49ers passing attack. San Francisco signed him with the understanding that he could potentially miss a couple games so this is great news for them. Expectations are low but remember that if a team feeds him the ball, he can produce. In 2007, he did have 80 receptions for 1,289 receiving yards and four scores.
Fantasy Analysis:
San Francisco's offense isn't going to light up many scoreboards but he'll make for a nice target in the redzone alongside TE Vernon Davis
. Edwards has a lot to prove to critics and is still in the prime of his career. At best, he's a shaky WR3 choice for your starting lineup. The 49ers need QB Alex Smith to finally put it together for Edwards to have any shot at becoming a top 30 WR again.
