San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Braylon Edwards dodged a suspension this season after pleading guilty to a DUI charge from 2010. With Michael Crabtree sidelined with various ailments, Edwards is poised for a potential lead role in the 49ers passing attack. San Francisco signed him with the understanding that he could potentially miss a couple games so this is great news for them. Expectations are low but remember that if a team feeds him the ball, he can produce. In 2007, he did have 80 receptions for 1,289 receiving yards and four scores.

San Francisco's offense isn't going to light up many scoreboards but he'll make for a nice target in the redzone alongside TE Vernon Davis . Edwards has a lot to prove to critics and is still in the prime of his career. At best, he's a shaky WR3 choice for your starting lineup. The 49ers need QB Alex Smith to finally put it together for Edwards to have any shot at becoming a top 30 WR again.
