Redskins TE Chris Cooley game-day decision for season opener

Washington Redskins tight end Chris Cooley @thecooleyzone was limited in practice on Monday and is considered by head coach Mike Shanahan to be a game-day decision for their regular season opener against the New York Giants on September 11. If Cooley is unable to play, tight end Fred Davis will fill his role. Cooley rebounded nicely in 2010 from an injury plagued 2009 season. Besides Santana Moss, Cooley has the potential to be the second leading receiver for the Skins this year.

Fantasy Analysis:

Shanahan listed more players questionable last year than any other coach. If that trend continues, expect Cooley to play until you hear otherwise. Given the depth of the tight end position, there are likely better options available to you on the waiver wire. Cooley is in a suspect offense that was only able to resolve its quarterback controversy in the last 24 hours. Fantasy owners should plug a different player into their starting lineup. There are just too many question marks surrounding this team.
