West Virginia's Steve Slaton declares for the draft
Versatile running back Steve Slaton has decided to forgo his senior year with the West Virginia Mountaineers and declare his eligibility for the 2008 NFL draft. Slaton's numbers were down significantly in 2007 due in part to the emergence of freshman Noel Devine. The 5'10, 190 pound back from Pennsylvania had 1401combined yards in 2007, which was down roughly 33% from his 2006 total of 2104 yards; however he matched his total of 18 combined TD's. In his career 664 rushes at West Virginia, he didn't have a single fumble.
