Ravens' plan for Ray Rice: Run until you can run no more
You always get concerned about a team possibly overworking a running back, but those concerns aren't suppose to pop up until well into the season. Here in August, we now have a story where it sounds like the Baltimore Ravens are possibly preparing to overwork Ray Rice
this season.
According to offensive coordinator Cam Cameron, the Ravens will keep Rice in the game until, "he gets tired," writes the team's official website. "When that happens, he's supposed to let Cameron know and (Ricky) Williams will enter the game."
Fantasy Analysis:
I have a hard time believing this. I mean, when is Ray Rice really going to ask to come out of a game? Of course, Cameron qualified his plan by saying that the coaching staff will be smart with Rice and try to keep him at top speed for the end of games.
So workload obviously won't be a problem for Rice this season. It's clear that Williams is just a backup more than a complementary runner. Rice is a easy mid-first-round pick in drafts. Now as far as next year goes, let's see if he ends up being a case for the "Curse of 400."
