Chiefs want to get RB Dexter McCluster more involved

Dexter McCluster @dextermccluster was a jack of all trades for the Kansas City Chiefs last season, doing most of his damage on kick returns. He touched the ball just 39 times from scrimmage. According to head coach Todd Haley, McCluster could match that total one month into the 2011 season because he wants McCluster to get at least seven touches per game this year.
"Seven touches, to me it's four or five runs and four or five catches and however many snaps that takes that doesn't matter to me nearly as much as this guy clearly in space is a hazard to the defense," Haley said of McCluster to the team's official website.
Tthe Chiefs want to use McCluster more as a running back and take him away from his duties as a slot receiver.

Fantasy Analysis:

Now it's all about having that plan reach fruition, which I think will be difficult. McCluster has looked good during the preaseason, but the Chiefs already have Jamaal Charles @jcharles25 and Thomas Jones in their backfield. Le'Ron McClain @LeRon_McClain33 may pitch in as well. I don't know if there will be 7-10 plays available for McCluster per game. He's an exciting, explosive, multi-purpose player, but he's just bench fodder for those in 12-team leagues.
