Cardinals rookie RB Ryan Williams likely out for season

Arizona Cardinals running back Ryan Williams @lilsweetness34 is still waiting for the final results of his tests, but head coach Ken Whisenhunt said that Williams "probably" tore his petalla tendon. This injury certainly ends Williams' rookie season abrupty and has the potential to be career-threatening as well. The Cardinals will now be relying on Chris Wells to assume an even larger role on offense with backups LaRod Stephens-Howling @LS_H36 and Alfonso Smith @FonzoRB29 needing to step up.

Fantasy Analysis:

Two of the top three backs selected in the 2011 NFL Draft are now out for the season: Ryan Williams and Mikel Leshoure. Williams' injury still hasn't been confirmed officially but Whisenhunt's prognosis had to have come straight from the team's doctors. For fantasy owners, be patient and wait for the final word to be passed along concerning Williams. Obviously, if you've got a draft coming up, don't take Williams since it's safe to assume he's done. Wells should now get a huge bump up draft boards as he has no serious competition behind him on the depth chart.
