Raiders WR Louis Murphy ruled out for week 1
Oakland Raiders wide receiver Louis Murphy
underwent an undisclosed surgery Wednesday, and head coach Hue Jackson has already said he won't play in the team's first regular season game.
Murphy has been out of action over the past couple of weeks with groin and hamstring injuries. He said last weekend that he was close to returning to practice, but he apparently suffered some kind of setback after that. All Jackson would say is that Murphy underwent a "nick surgery."
Fantasy Analysis:
Because, you know, he's nicked up. Whatever.
Murphy joins Chaz Schilens and Jacoby Ford
on the sidelines. However, Schilens is nearing a return to the field after spraining a knee last week. Ford's broken hand is still healing. And thus, the Denarius Moore
hype train picks up some more speed. I've said many times before here that I am a big Schilens fan, but I'm not on the Moore bandwagon yet. Other than Ford, I don't think any Raiders WR is worth drafting.
