Reggie Bush atop Dolphins' RB depth chart
Reggie Bush
has been considered a third-down, change-of-pace running back for most of him time in the NFL. But currently, he's No. 1 for the Miami Dolphins. With the Dolphins preparing for their first preseason game, the team has released a depth chart that shows Bush above rookie Daniel Thomas at running back. Lex Hilliard, Kory Sheets and Nic Grigsby take up the 3-5 spots on the depth chart at running back, respectively.
Bush is not one of the three Dolphins listed as a punt returner even though he has five punt-return touchdowns in his career.
Fantasy Analysis:
You won't see me writing a lot or at all about depth charts until we get closer to the regular season and this is a classic reason why. Reggie Bush should not be the Dolphins' top running back. If the team really thinks it can get 15-20 carries out of him every week, they have never watched Bush play in the NFL. Don't downgrade Thomas, who I still believe will be the starter come week one. So much can happen between now and then -- injuries, poor play, roster changes, etc. -- that stuff like this shouldn't matter to you until after the third preseason game at the earliest.
