RB Ricky Williams signs with Ravens

I thought Detroit could be a landing spot for Ricky Williams @RickyWilliams considering the loss of Mikel Leshoure earlier today. But it sounds like he already had a team waiting for him. Williams has signed with the Baltimore Ravens. According to ProFootballTalk.com via a league source, Williams signed a two-year deal worth up to $4 million. Williams, 34, has rushed for more than 9,500 yards in his NFL career. He gained 673 yards on 159 carries last season with the Miami Dolphins.

Fantasy Analysis:

The Ravens chose not to re-sign Le'Ron McClain or Willis McGahee, so they had a void behind Ray Rice @RayRice27 in its running attack. Yeah, it hurts Rice a little bit, but no one should have expected him to be the Ravens' every-down back, including in short yardage. Williams will take away some goal-line carries and will probably get another 150 carries, but Rice remains a top-5 fantasy RB. Williams is worth a flier.
