Buccaneers RB LeGarrette Blount working on pass-catching skills

Earnest Graham @EarnestGraham, Allen Bradford @AllenBradford21 and Kregg Lumpkin are apparently locked in a battle to be the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' third-down running back. But starting running back LeGarrette Blount @LG_Blount has a different candidate to take over the role: LeGarrette Blount. That's why Blount has been working on his receiving skills and expanding his knowledge of pass protections in training camp. So far, he's earning positive reviews. "We like what he's shown us so far," offensive coordinator Greg Olson said. "It's always an ongoing process with LeGarrette. He's really self motivated and is passionate about how he plays and he works at it, so I don't think there's any reason he can't get better as a pass receiver."

Fantasy Analysis:

Blount caught just five passes last season, so don't expect 40-50 catches in 2011. It seems like we hear this kind of story about the Falcons' Michael Turner every year, and he's never had more than 12 receptions in any season. If Blount can get up to 20-25, that would give his fantasy value a nice little jolt. While he may fall victim to the "sophomore slump," Blount is an RB2.
