Indiana University wide receiver Tandon Doss has declared early for the 2011 NFL Draft. Doss is expected to go in "the first three rounds" according to the NFL Draft Advisory board. He had 63 receptions for 706 yards and seven touchdowns this season. He finished fourth in the nation with 175.8 all-purpose yards per game. "While my experience at Indiana was great, my decision came down to the fact that I could not pass up the opportunity to start my professional career," Doss said. "Entering the NFL Draft was the best decision for myself, and most importantly, my family. My experience at IU was great and helped lay the foundation for my future. I can assure you that I will work hard and represent Indiana University in a first-class manner."

Fantasy Analysis:

The Draft Advisory board was probably a bit too kind to Doss. While he did overachieve at a poor football school in his career, Doss doesn't have the physical measureables that really jump out. The underlying problem for wide receivers is coaching staffs are usually willing to reach for one or two prospects per year in the first round. Teams prefer waiting until Day 2 or 3 of the draft to make a move on a receiver. This year's receiver class is also very deep with players like A.J. Green, Justin Blackmon, Julio Jones, Torrey Smith, Michael Floyd, just to name a few. In my 2011 NFL Mock Draft, I do not have Doss selected in the first two rounds. He is a better fit as a late-third, early-fourth round pick.
