UPDATE: Michael Vick, other starting Eagles likely to rest in week 17

The phrase "nothing to play for" is thrown around a lot this time of year. But the Philadelphia Eagles are one of two playoff teams that actually have nothing to play for. No matter what happens, they can not change their playoff seeding, unlike 10 other teams in the tournament (The New England Patriots are also locked in). So it's assumed that the Eagles will rest their starters Sunday versus Dallas. A player at the top of that "rest" list is quarterback Michael Vick @MikeVick, who suffered a quad bruise during the first play of Tuesday night's game. "I'm not even sure he could get back from what he has now, the quad [contusion]," Reid said about Vick on Wednesday. "It was painful yesterday and it as painful today. If he had to play today, he couldn't. It's tight, it's sore. He'll be all right down the road." Reid didn't disclose how much playing time his regulars will see in week 17, but did say he will be cautious with those affected by injury. Update: According to the Philadelphia Inquirer's Jeff McLane and NFL.com's Jason La Canfora via team sources, Vick has been ruled out for Sunday's game. Kevin Kolb will start.

Fantasy Analysis:

To that point, Reid said DeSean Jackson @DeseanJackson10's injured foot is bothering him a bit, so it sounds like he'll be out as well. In short, bench all of your Eagles. If they had clinched a first-round bye, I could see the likes of LeSean McCoy @CutonDime25 or Jeremy Maclin @jmac_18 playing a half or so before taking nearly two weeks off. But with the playoffs a week away, I expect Reid to treat the Cowboys game like a bye. Thus, Kevin Kolb becomes a very interesting player for fantasy against that horrible Dallas secondary. Jason Avant would probably be his top target with Riley Cooper also seeing lots of field time. Jerome Harrison is McCoy's backup and we all remember what he did at the end of last season. I think he's a flex play, and that sentence should tell you to never EVER play fantasy football in week 17.
