Vikings' Adrian Peterson questionable; Brett Favre doubtful
The Vikings showed us Monday it's best not to guess on the playing status of their injured stars. But fantasy owners need those educated guesses, so know that while Brett Favre isn't expected to play against the Philadelphia Eagles, Adrian Peterson
is looking like a go. Peterson practiced in limited fashion Thursday and Friday and is listed as questionable on the injury report with a thigh bruise. Interim head coach Leslie Frazier told the Minneapolis Star Tribune after today's practice "I think (Peterson will) probably make it. It seems like we're headed in the right direction."
Frazier smartly refused to rule Favre out, but he hasn't passed his baseline tests and has yet to be cleared by a doctor. Favre suffered a concussion against the Bears in week 15 and is listed as doubtful on the injury report.
Fantasy Analysis:
Obviously, forget about Favre and don't trust the Vikings' aerial options. Whether it's the gunslinger or Joe Webb
or Patrick Ramsey, you can't feel good about any of their receivers at Philly. You'll remember that Peterson practiced just once last week before being ruled out shortly before kickoff Monday. He doubled his participation and the head coach is sounding optimistic about him playing. The matchup is tough, but you are not going to bench Adrian Peterson in your championship game if he's active. Expect him to be so, but get Toby Gerhart for insurance.
