Texans' Arian Foster says he was limited by muscle spasm in glute
The Houston Texans got their butts kicked by the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. If you started Arian Foster
, odds are you got your butt kicked out of the fantasy playoffs because Foster must have felt like he got kicked in the butt. It was initially reported that Foster missed the final 10 minutes of the game because of the ankle sprain that limited him during the practice week. But he said during a postgame interview that "a muscle spasm in my glute" was the culprit. Foster was having a rough day before the pain started. He ran 11 times for just 15 yards, his fewest rushing yards in a game all season. He also added six catches for 46 yards.
Fantasy Analysis:
The good news for Foster owners who are still alive is that he should be able to play in week 16 at Denver. But we have to figure out whom is telling the truth: Foster or head coach Gary Kubiak, who said it was indeed the ankle that slowed his top RB Sunday. The down effort obviously came at a bad time for many, but Foster is still the most productive running back in fantasy this season by a comfortable margin. Assuming he takes advantage of the poor run defenses left on Houston's schedule -- Broncos and Jaguars -- Foster is going to end this season with more than 2,000 yards from scrimmage and close to 20 total scores. Even though he's spent just one full year as a starter, he's got to be a top-five pick in 2011 drafts.
