Colts' Austin Collie sustains second concussion
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Austin Collie
suffered his second concussion this season yesterday late in the second quarter against the Jacksonville Jaguars. "The only update I can give you is he's doing OK right now, but he had a concussion, and he'll be evaluated further," head coach Jim Caldwell said after the game. Quarterback Peyton Manning attempted a pass into a very tight window, Collie almost managed to catch the ball but was hit by Jacksonville linebacker Daryl Smith's forearm right to his head. Collie was eventually able to get up on his own and he walked directly to the team's locker room. He did not return and did not make any statements after the game. Collie had his first concussion on November 7 in a game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Fantasy Analysis:
Collie is one tough guy and he's willing to work the middle of the field and that's where these sorts of injuries can happen. Despite missing five games this season, Collie has been highly productive when he's been on the field. In this game, without even playing a full half, he had eight receptions for 87 yards and two touchdowns. These concussions are adding up though and it seems unlikely he'll play next week. After his first concussion, he sat out a week only to return the following week. For Collie owners, continue to monitor the situation throughout the week.
