Chargers injury report: Vincent Jackson ahead of schedule
The last time Vincent Jackson
played, he lasted just a few plays because of a strained calf muscle. It looks he'll have a chance to best that mark Sunday against the Kansas City Chargers. Jackson, who has been out since suffering that injury in week 12, practiced for the second consecutive day Friday and is expected to play despite being listed as questionable on the injury report.
Elsewhere, Antonio Gates
didn't practice Friday and his status remains its usual "game-title decision." He is battling injuries to both feet, including a torn right plantar fascia.
Darren Sproles
is questionable because of a concussion suffered in week 13. He was limited during Friday's practice. Legedu Naanee didn't practice all week and is doubtful because of a hamstring injury. And Patrick Crayton is out as he continues to recover from wrist surgery. The team would like to have him back by week 16.
Fantasy Analysis:
Let me get the simple stuff out of the way: Unless you're in a really deep PPR league, you can't play Sproles, no matter if he is active. Mike Tolbert and Ryan Mathews will be, too. Gates has already said he will play in this game and I have no reason to doubt him. He'll continue to play through tremendous pain and should be in your lineup. Now, Jackson is a difficult situation. This is a nice matchup, a must-win game for the Chargers, and we know Jackson has great potential. But we haven't seen him display it all year. I am pretty conservative when it comes to starting players coming back from injury. Considering that Jackson pretty much hasn't played all season, I think he's a high-risk, high-reward WR3 in 12-team leagues. If you can afford to play it safe, do so. You don't want to be burned again if another injury ends his day early.
