UPDATE: Chargers' Gates, Floyd, Tolbert practice
The San Diego Chargers trio of offensive players: tight end Antonio Gates
, wide receiver Malcom Floyd and running back Mike Tolbert
all practiced on Friday and are only listed as questionable for this week's game against the Oakland Raiders. "It's nice to get them out here and get them the reps that we emphasize on Friday," Chargers coach Norv Turner said. "I would love to have them practicing Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, but that is not where we are at right now. But I'm optimistic all three will be able to play." Gates was limited in practice while Floyd and Tolbert practiced fully. Rookie running back Ryan Mathews is expected to return to play this week. He hasn't played since Week 9.
Fantasy Analysis:
The Chargers offense is at time so good that Gates, Floyd and Tolbert are all guys that should be considered starters in most every league. On the other hand, even with Mathews looking to play, Tolbert is the better option between the two. Just look at the numbers. Mathews has 382 yards and two touchdowns and has played in eight games this season. Tolbert has played in 11 games and has 609 yards and nine touchdowns. Tolbert is the more effective runner by far. As for Floyd, he's going to be the No. 1 WR on the team so he'll get plenty of targets.
