Texans' Daniels and Walter out

Houston Texans tight end Owen Daniels @owendaniels will be out for Houston's Thursday night game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Daniels has a hamstring injury. Backup tight end Joel Dreessen will play for him. Wide receiver Kevin Walter is questionable with a calf injury and will likely be a game-time decision. Receivers Jacoby Jones and Dorin Dickerson get the bump up the depth chart in Walter's absence. The Texans have also used James Casey a lot with the injuries to their pass catchers. Texans head coach Gary Kubiak also added that he "would definitely count on (Daniels to play) next week."

Fantasy Analysis:

It's been a very tough season for Daniels. Coming into the season, most fantasy owners were probably counting on him as a bit of a sleeper after having such a great 2009 season before getting injured. And here we are in 2010 with more injuries to Daniels. It's too bad, because he's a very dynamic and athletic tight end who can do a lot of things for the Texans. Walter has also been a bit of a disappointment. After starting the season well, he's fallen off almost inexplicably. Both guys are liabilities at this point and have no business being on the greater majority of fantasy rosters. Jones really needs to step up in his place or the Texans may look to overhaul their offense since they've had to rely so much on running back Arian Foster and wide receiver Andre Johnson. With so much attention being paid to those two, any legitimate talent should be able to succeed in those roles, especially in man-to-man coverage.
