Chargers' Patrick Crayton goes under the knife, is out for a few weeks

If a somewhat healthy Malcom Floyd and the return of Vincent Jackson wasn't enough to make you bench San Diego Chargers wide receiver Patrick Crayton @pcrayton12, how about wrist surgery? Crayton, who dislocated his left wrist during Monday night's triumph against the Denver Broncos, had surgery on his wrist Wednesday. According to Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune, "The hope is [Crayton] could play late in the season, perhaps as early as the middle of next month." Crayton had done a very nice job filling in for Floyd, Antonio Gates, Legedu Naanee and others in the Chargers' passing game while they were sidelined. He gained at least 70 yards in four of his past five games. Despite leaving Monday's win early, Crayton recorded 105 yards and a touchdown.

Fantasy Analysis:

It was pretty nice while it lasted, but Crayton can now be dropped in all leagues. With Floyd and Jackson playing, he is no better than the Chargers' fourth-best option in the passing game when healthy. Crayton may be able to return in week 15, at the earliest. The Chargers' last three opponents are the 49ers, Bengals and Broncos. Those are decent matchups, but unless San Diego runs into another stack of wide receiver injuries, Crayton is useless.
