Update: Texans' Schaub expected to practice Thursday

A day after being hospitalized, ESPN.com writer Paul Kahursky is reporting that Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub is already out of the hospital and is expected to practice on Thursday. Schaub was taken to the hospital with a "bursa sac issue"."A hospital stay suggests doctors were aggressively fighting an infection with IV antibiotics," Kuharsky said. "If that doesn't work, things could get more complicated." The Texans face the New York Jets next and desperately need a win to remain in the playoff picture in a difficult AFC South division. If Schaub can't play, backup quarterback Dan Orlovsky would play.

Fantasy Analysis:

Houston has lost three straight and four of the last five. Despite a 4-5 record, they are only two games back in a very crowded AFC South. The Texans are sixth-best in the NFL in total offense. Unfortunately, on the flip side of that, they are ranked 31st in total defense, allowing over 400 yards per game. They also allowed a ridiculous 11 plays of 40 yards or greater. I mention this because Schaub is constantly forced to pass the ball as the Texans find themselves surrendering a ton of points. This means they have to shift away from the running game, it puts more pressure on Andre Johnson and the other receivers to make plays. So from a fantasy standpoint, Schaub is good to have since you know he'll have to pass, it's just that it doesn't work out too well for Houston on the field. If he can play, Schaub should still be in your lineup as the Jets' pass defense isn't as good as it was last season.
