Steelers close the book on Jeff Reed

FFToolbox.com: We are here to keep you updated on all of the latest-breaking kicker news. In continuation with that mission statement, the Steelers cut Jeff Reed on Tuesday and replaced him with Shaun Suisham. The team made the official announcement in a fewer-than-50-word statement. "To make room for Suisham, the Steelers released kicker Jeff Reed," the press release stated. "Reed was in his ninth year with the team in 2010, but was just 15 of 22 on field goal attempts this season. Reed ranks second in team history with 919 career points (307 PATs, 204 FGs)." Those seven missed field goals are Reed's most since 2006 and his current 68.2 conversion percentage would be the lowest of his NFL career. The move comes about two days after Reed missed a 26-yard field goal during a home loss to New England. Reed missed a field goal in each of his final three games with the Steelers.

Fantasy Analysis:

The obvious assumption is that the Bengals will now go after Reed since Mike Nugent is gone for the year because of a knee injury. Regardless, you don't need to worry about Reed or Suisham. Just pick up a kicker every week in a good matchup and see what happens. That's about all you can do when it comes to kickers.
