Broncos head coach: Knowshon Moreno is more than a '2-down player'

It's hard to trust a Denver Broncos head coach, both present and former, when it comes to running backs. But if you want some encouraging words on Knowshon Moreno @knowshonmoreno, take a look at what Josh McDaniels said Wednesday. McDaniels spoke highly of Moreno, who two receiving touchdowns during its 59-14 blowout loss to the Raiders in week seven. McDaniels said Moreno is "not a two-down player," meaning that if he's fully healthy, he'll see playing time on all three downs while Correll Buckhalter and Laurence Maroney @LaurenceMaroney play less. Moreno missed most of training camp and three games earlier this season due to a couple of hamstring injuries.

Fantasy Analysis:

I'm not sure how much less Buckhalter and Maroney can play after each received zero carries (count 'em, zero) on Sunday. But it's nice to hear that the Broncos have no leash on Moreno. It shows that he has completely recovered from his recent injuries. Moreno touched the ball 17 times against the Raiders and while he didn't burn the ground running, his presence in the passing game was a nice sight. He's a top-20 running back this week when the Broncos face the 49ers in London. San Francisco has been pretty good at stopping the run, but has allowed the second-most receptions to running backs this season.
