Giants' Hakeem Nicks misses practice Friday, says he will 'definitely' play
Some eyebrows were certainly raised Friday when news broke that New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks suddenly missed practice because of a hamstring injury. Then Nicks did his best to calm any commotion. He said the hamstring problem is nothing more than fatigue and he skipped practice to give it some rest. He believes he will have no problems heading into Monday night's game in Dallas. "Oh, I'm definitely playing," Nicks said. "There's no question about that," It's Monday Night Football." "Nothing serious. Probably more fatigue, just a lot of running, a lot of reps, that's all. ... I've dealt with this before so I know how to approach it now. I just want to make the right decisions."
Fantasy Analysis:
Nicks is coming off a three-catch, eight-yard game. But fantasy owners can't freak out. He is still a stud, a must-start every week. Sometimes, even the best have a bad day. Chris Johnson has had a couple this year. Look at what happened to Miles Austin last week. But you put those players in your lineup, no questions asked. Since Nicks doesn't seem to be injured, you have to roll with him against The Cowboys, who are beatable through the air. They allowed just 95 yards to wide receivers last week against Minnesota, but Brett Favre threw just 19 passes. The Giants will chuck it more and Eli Manning should be able to find Nicks often. Start your studs!
