Jaguars' David Garrard sidelined by concussion

In the Jacksonville Jaguars Monday Night Football game at home against the Tennessee Titans, quarterback David Garrard @davidgarrard9 sustained a concussion that took him out of the game. Newly acquired backup and former Buffalo Bills quarterback Trent Edwards took over for Garrard. Up until that point, Garrard wasn't having a great game, only completing 7 of 12 passes for 49 yards and an interception. Edwards didn't fare very well either, finishing the game with 140 yards on 14 of 24 passes for two interceptions and no touchdowns. The Jaguars only two quarterbacks on the roster and may be forced to sign an emergency backup if Garrard is inactive next week.

Fantasy Analysis:

It's been a very up and down season for Jacksonville. They have the sixth worst defense and eighth worst offense in the NFL. In spite of their poor performance, they have a 3-3 record but if Edwards is forced to be the starter at quarterback next week, a dip below the .500 mark seems inevitable. On Monday night, Tennessee completely outclassed the Jags and in the very tough AFC South division, Jacksonville is the clear cellar-dweller. Garrard's status for Week 7 for Jacksonville's road game against the Kansas City Chiefs is currently uncertain. Keep an eye on this situation as the week progresses.
