UPDATE: Vikings' Brett Favre will be a game-time decision
Earlier today, Matt De Lima wrote on here that Brett Favre could be a game-time decision for the Minnesota Vikings due to elbow tendinitis. According to head coach Brad Childress on Friday, possibility has been replaced by certainty. "It will be right up to then," Childress said of Favre being a game-time decision. "You never know coming back, [he] took a few more turns today. I can't look into a crystal ball and see how he wakes up tomorrow. He could wake up with the gout tomorrow morning." Favre practiced Friday and told reporters that he is "encouraged" by the progress his right elbow has made in the past couple days. Childress called Favre's practice today "OK." Favre is officially listed as questionable to play Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys.
Fantasy Analysis:
And best of all, no gout ... yet. The Vikings-Cowboys game is a late-afternoon kickoff, so if you don't feel like taking a chance, get Favre out of your lineup now. Oh, whom am I kidding? Favre is going to start, especially since he's now expressing some optimism about his much-discussed elbow. Just after I published this note, it was reported that Favre told his buddy over at ESPN, Ed Werder, that he fully expects to start this game. I also think he will play relatively well at home against an up-and-down secondary. The turnovers will certainly show up, but I think Favre is a top-12 fantasy QB this week.
