Buccaneers' Mike Williams listed as questionable, will be game-day decision
Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Williams
has been battling a foot injury for the past week. He practiced Friday, something he hadn't yet done this week. But he is listed as questionable to play Sunday versus the New Orleans Saints. Head coach Raheem Morris said Williams looked good during today's practice, but also said his availability for the game probably won't be decided until Sunday.
"He will be one of those decisions that you have to make in the training room," Morris said of Williams. "We have tomorrow and our walk-through that we have to deal with, but we will get him out there and hopefully he will be ready to go."
Williams injured his foot during week five's win over Cincinnati. He has experienced a pretty successful rookie season thus far. Williams has caught 19 passes for 239 yards and three touchdowns. And his team is 3-1.
Fantasy Analysis:
I think Williams is going to suit up. Like Morris said in the link below, Williams young, tough and has a lot of will to play. I think he showed that a bit today. The matchup isn't appealing as the Saints have played pretty well against the pass this year. But Williams has already scored against quality secondaries in Cincy and Carolina. He's the clear No. 1 target of Josh Freeman
, who is also playing well right now, and I think that connection plus Williams' evident talent and his fast start makes him a very fine No. 3 wide receiver in 12-team leagues.
