2013 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:
Jon Bostic, ILB, Florida
Speed is Bostic's best attribute. Ran very well at the NFL Combine with a 4.61 40-yard dash, 6.99 three-cone drill and 4.24 20-yard shuttle. All three of those times were among the very best at his position. Bostic is good, but not great against the run. Displaying an average ability to read and react to the run. Doesn't stay on assignment as much as he should and loses his gap responsibility on too many occasions. Has better inside blitzing abilities at this time. Really explodes into a blocker and plays with great leverage when taking on his man. Violent hands.
Average range and not fluid in his movement. Not a natural in coverage. Reads the quarterback well when in a short zone, but a bit too hesitant at times -- leaving him floundering in open space. Needs a lot of work in the techniques of man coverage.
Bostic projects as a fourth or fifth round prospect in the 2013 NFL Draft.
To be honest i've only watched the Gators play once this season in the bowl game. Although they lost the game he was the guy that really stood out for me. He plays with intentions of really hurting the opposing players. Forget Te'o and Ogletree, i wouldnt mind if my team grabbed him in the later rounds.
