2012 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:
Mike Harris, CB, Florida State
The Miami, FL native has decent size at 5'11'' and 195 pounds. He generally runs in the low-4.5s in the 40-yard dash and he has been clocked as fast as 4.42 from that distance. Harris is outstanding in the run department. He is a surprisingly big hitter and he has a knack for the backfield with great instincts. That physicality also translates to his good work engaging bigger receivers within five yards of the line of scrimmage. He needs to improve his pass-coverage fundamentals if he is going to be a shutdown corner at the next level. Early in his career Harris will likely play in nickel situations and contribute on special teams. The tools are there for him to eventually become a starter at cornerback. Look for him to be drafted in the fifth round of the 2012 NFL Draft.
