2012 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:
person
Rueben Randle, WR, LSU
Randle has been getting better and better throughout his career at LSU, but he would probably be wise to return for his senior season and improve his draft stock even further. As a freshman he played sparingly and caught 11 passes for 173 yards and two touchdowns. Randle made 33 receptions for 544 yards and three scores as a sophomore. Despite being part of a run-heavy offense in 2011, Randle hauled in 53 passes for 917 yards and eight touchdowns. He helped lead the Tigers to an undefeated regular season and the SEC Championship, but they were blanked by Alabama in the BCS National Championship.
Randle has great size at 6'4'' and 208 pounds. The Bastrop, LA native generally runs in the 4.5s of the 40-yard dash and he has been clocked as fast as 4.48 from that distance. While his speed is not elite, Randle can get down the field and he obviously presents himself as a big red-zone target. He can break tackles, but his route-running can be improved and he has been inconsistent (sometimes disappearing in games). Randle would probable be selected in the second or third round this year, but he has first-round potential for the 2013 NFL Draft if he goes back to college.
