2012 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:
Jonathan Massaquoi, OLB, Troy
Massaquoi was a standout for Troy and looks like he will transition to 3-4 outside. With his big bulk, he's able to overpower blockers at the line. He lacks elite speed, but flashes a nice quick burst off the line. He's typically looking to collapse the pocket and back his man into the quarterback. Massaquoi uses his leverage well and gets his pad level low to move his man. He's an able tackler who can too often look for the big hit.
He's a project since he spent the majority of his collegiate career at defensive end. It is going to be a big transition (especially when he's asked to learn coverages), but he has fluid hips that show some promise. His football IQ doesn't stand out to me because he's not that great in pursuit, but he'll need to be the type of player who simply outworks and plays with hustle to be a regular contributor in the NFL.
