2011 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:
Keith Williams, OG, Nebraska
The situation was a little different in 2009. The Cornhuskers were breaking in a new quarterback and running back. Williams missed the season opener and had to work his way back into a starting role a couple of weeks later. However, Williams did a superb job once he got back into the flow of the game and helped pave the way for Roy Helu to rush for over 1,000 yards. Helu again reached the 1,000 yard plateau in 2010, the first Nebraska back to do so in consecutive seasons since Calvin Jones in 1992 and 1993. Williams, yet again, missed the season opener and did not start in week two. But the rest of the season went as planned and Williams ended up earning All-Big 12 Honorable Mention accolades during his senior season.
At 6-5 and 310 pounds, Williams has the size and strength to play in the NFL. He is not the quickest offensive lineman around, but he is strong enough to push away most interior lineman. Unfortunately for Williams, he is probably not even the best guard on Nebraska. Ricky Henry has taken away some of the attention from him and now Williams has to separate himself during pre-draft workouts if he hopes to be higher than a sixth or seventh round selection.
