2011 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:
person
Terrence Toliver, WR, LSU
Toliver is one of the more experienced receivers in college football. Now a senior, Toliver has been no less than a part-time starter since his freshman year in Baton Rouge. He started two games as a freshman, two as a sophomore, and 11 as a junior. Last season Toliver hauled in 53 passes for 735 yards and three touchdowns. He already has three touchdowns (tied for his career-high) this year through eight games, although his stats are not off the charts (25 catches, 311 yards). To his credit, Toliver turned in his best performance (six receptions, 111 yards, two scores including the game-winner) in a 33-29 win over Florida.
A huge target at 6'5'' and 204 pounds, Toliver should be a red-zone machine when he gets into an NFL system at the next level. He has good 4.42 speed, although he is fastest running long routes when he can get a full head of steam going. His intermediate route-running can be inconsistent, and dropped passes are a minor concern. Still, he is dangerous with the ball in his hands and it will not be hard to get it to him on Sundays. Toliver should be off the board no later than the second round of the 2010 draft.
