2011 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:
Stanley Havili, FB, USC
Havili is obviously a superb pass catcher out of the backfield. During his career, 12 of his receptions resulted in touchdowns. However, Havili can do more than catch the ball. On a team that has had some solid running backs over the last four years, Havili has made his mark. As a redshirt freshman in 2007, he rushed for 134 yards and two scores on just 21 carries. Havili did not see more carries than that until his senior season when he rushed for 166 yards on 26 carries, but he has averaged over six yards per carry during his career.
Havili is flashier than your average fullback. The NFL will like his versatility, speed and explosiveness, but he still needs to develop into a better blocker. He also has a few questions to answer about a fight with his teammate that led to a suspension. Yet, Havili will likely be the top fullback on most draft boards and the fact that he can be a third down running back will make him a more attractive option to teams that do not often use a fullback.
