2010 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:

Marshall Newhouse, OG, TCU
TCU may not be known for its offense, but the line has always been at least decent over the last half dozen years or so and Marshall Newhouse has been a part of that. In 2006 he was the only true freshman to play on the offensive side of the ball. By 2007 he was starting every game and earned an honorable mention All-Mountain West Conference nominee. As an upperclassmen, Newhouse stepped up his game even more and once again started every game. This time around he was a Second-team All-Mountain West Conference selection. And, fittingly enough, for his senior campaign Newhouse was a first-team selection. Newhouse has been criticized for his slow reaction time and his perceived inability to pick up complicated defensive schemes. At 6-4 and 319 pounds, he will certainly make the move from offensive tackle to guard at the next level, but his versatility to move back to tackle in a pinch is a plus. While his decision making may be in doubt, Newhouse is a quick lineman who has enough strength to be a guard in the NFL. A great week at the East-West Shrine Game has bolstered his stock considerably and another solid showing at the NFL Combine has done the same. That could move Newhouse from almost completely off the radar to a fourth round selection.
