Antonio Brown Scouting Report

After his coach and quarterback left Central Michigan, Antonio Brown opted to do the same and try his luck in the NFL after his junior campaign. With an amazing 7,164 all-purpose yards in just three seasons, Brown has certainly been an extremely productive player. In 2007 he won the Mid-American Conference Freshman of the Year honors after tallying 102 receptions for 1,003 yards and six scores. He added a rushing touchdown and a return touchdown that year as well. His numbers were pretty much the same in 2008 and he increased his overall production during his junior campaign, tallying 110 catches for 1,198 yards and nine scores. He carried the ball 42 times in 2009 as well and tallied 341 yards on 42 attempts and three trips to the end zone. He even returned two punts and one kick-off for a score during his last year in Mount Pleasant. That is some major productivity, but that is what CMU does. Brown is just 5-10, but does not have blazing speed. Obviously he can evade defenders and make things happen, but NFL teams want to see more speed or size from a wide receiver. Yet, that will not stop Brown from being a quality returnman right away and a possible third or fourth receiver on some teams. It may take a little time for him to adjust to an NFL offense, but give Brown the ball in space and he will make plays. That should keep him in the fourth or fifth round at the latest.
