Joshua Moore, CB, Kansas State
Corners are not usually known for their tackling ability, but Joshua Moore led Kansas State in that category during the 2008 campaign with 76 and ranked second in 2009 with 64. Those numbers can be a little misleading since the Kansas State defense was pretty bad during those two seasons and tackles that would normally go to linebackers often went into the secondary. At the least, Moore is an experienced tackler. But what the 5-11, 184 pound Pompano Beach, Florida native does best is cover passes. Even as a freshman in 2006, Moore broke up six passes and recorded his first career interception. His best game was saved for last in the Texas Bowl versus Rutgers and that catapulted him into a successful season in 2008 despite redshirting during the 2007 campaign. In 2008, on top of his team high 76 tackles, Moore picked off three passes and broke up 15 more. His numbers were just as impressive in 2009 when he intercepted two passes and broke up 11. Few were paying close attention to Kansas State during the 2009 season and that gave Moore an opportunity to have some good workouts and really shoot up his stock. However, his 40 speed was a little slower than expected and his 4.50 time has him dropping on most boards. His lack of strength to beat opposing receivers of the line is also an issue and Moore is probably a fifth or sixth round selection at this point.
