Kerry Meier, WR, Kansas
It has been a weird road to wide receiver for Kerry Meier of Kansas. He began his collegiate career as a quarterback and performed admirably as a freshman in 2006, starting eight games on the year. Things looked bad in 2007 when Meier lost the starting quarterback job to Todd Reesing. Eventually (in order to find a way to put the athletic Meier on the field), he started taking snaps at wide receiver. Meier obviously knew the offense, but he was not very involved as a sophomore. That changed in 2008 when Meier teamed up with Dezmon Briscoe to turn into one of the most dangerous receiving duos in the nation. Meier is not the deep threat that Briscoe is, but he led the team with 97 catches (which led to 1,045 receiving yards) and eight trips to the end zone. The story has been the same thus far during the 2009 campaign. Briscoe gets the big plays, but Meier is the clutch receiver who gets more catches. Meier is a legitimate early round selection due to his size and intelligence. At 6-3 he still looks like he can play quarterback, and having a former quarterback at wide receiver makes the defense think twice on every end. He is not that fast or agile, but he runs great routes and is always mentally a step ahead of the defense.

Not fast, but a sure handed receiver. He could play slot. His stock could go up if he's faster than 4.55.
