2010 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:
person
David Gettis, WR, Baylor
David Gettis has done as well as one could hope for a Baylor wide receiver. The passing opportunities were slim throughout his collegiate career, but Gettis made the most of his situation and gave the Bears a consistent big play receiver. His 6-4, 215 pound frame is what makes him an NFL prospect and his size and speed will make him an intriguing mid-round option. Heading into his senior season, Gettis had only caught 64 passes for 880 yards and one touchdown. Those are certainly not gaudy numbers (especially in the Big 12 South), but he has slowly improved during his four years with the Bears. As a freshman he only caught four passes, but they went for 82 yards and a score. His big play ability was certainly on show, but he could not live up to the lofty yards per catch average during the 2007 season. However, Gettis did catch 31 passes for 407 yards and followed it up in 2008 with 29 catches for 391 yards. Baylor threw the ball more in 2009 while the team continued to adjust to second year head coach Art Briles' offensive scheme. Gettis did not even lead the team in receptions, yards or touchdowns, but he easily had career highs in those categories; finishing up his collegiate career with 52 receptions for 675 yards and three scores.

Gettis will be a final day pick, but has 3rd round talent. Nice size and speed with good hops and body control. Sleeper.
