2010 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:
person
Matt Tennant, C, Boston College
It was Matt Tennant who was snapping the ball to Matt Ryan during his superb 2007 season at Boston College. Tennant paved the way for Ryan and the Eagles to have a very successful season, mostly based around the passing attack. And that was during Tennant's first season as a starter for BC. In 2008 Ryan was off to the NFL and Tennant and the rest of the offense had to make a quick switch from a pass orientated team to a run orientated team. Obviously Boston College's offense was less dynamic without Ryan, but with the help of Tennant the ground game did surprisingly well. The story was the same throughout the 2009 regular season when Montel Harris rushed for 1,355 yards and 13 scores during the regular season. Tennant has been the stable force in the offensive line for the last three years and his experience will be very valuable to the NFL. At 6-4 and 291 pounds, Tennant has enough size and quickness to do just about anything an NFL team would want from a center. At this point Tennant is one of the top centers in this class. While that may not equate to a first round selection, Tennant should be gone by the end of the second round.
